Holistic Aerial Movement Immersion Retreat

At Casa Chango in Puerto Escondido, Mexico

Instructor: Marash- Mariana Torres Ham
August 22-29, 2026

Spend a WEEK in PARADISE  with new friends, the beach, delicious, fresh, local food, and learn loads of new Aerial Skills!

This retreat is a holistic aerial and movement immersion designed to strengthen the body, expand the mind, and reconnect with the spirit.

Each day will include structured aerial classes focused on flexibility, strength, endurance, coordination, and technical progress in circus-based movement. Participants will work with aerial apparatuses to build confidence, overcome fear, and develop a deeper sense of trust in their bodies and abilities.

Alongside the physical training, the retreat integrates conscious movement, breathwork, and somatic practices that support mental clarity, emotional balance, and nervous system regulation. The intention is not only to improve physical performance, but to cultivate presence, focus, and a grounded, embodied mindset that participants can carry back into their daily lives and personal practice.

By the end of the retreat, participants will leave feeling stronger, more flexible, more coordinated, and mentally empowered — with a renewed sense of calm, self-trust, and integration between body, mind, and spirit.

When you aren’t practicing, you’ll be eating amazing, healthy food, lounging at the pool, swimming in the ocean, reading in hammocks, and enjoying being in nature.  Get ready to move, play, breathe, feel, stretch, and express.  At Casa Chango you are invited to shine and be yourself!

There will be 2 daily classes on this retreat.
Morning classes are dedicated to building strength, flexibility, and technical awareness through aerial arts and conscious movement. Each session begins with a guided warm-up focused on mobility, joint preparation, and breath, preparing the body for safe and efficient aerial practice. Classes will then progress into aerial technique and conditioning, emphasizing strength, endurance, coordination, and fluid transitions on the apparatus. Participants will work progressively according to their level, developing body awareness, confidence, and control while learning how to move with precision and intention in the air. Attention is given to alignment, injury prevention, and sustainable training practices. These morning classes are designed to energize the body, sharpen focus, and establish a strong physical and mental foundation for the rest of the day.

Afternoon and evening classes are focused on integration, creativity, and embodied awareness. These sessions invite participants to slow down, connect deeply with their bodies, and explore movement as a form of expression and ritual. Through a blend of aerial flow, floor work, flexibility, breath work, and guided somatic practices, students will integrate the physical work of the morning into fluid, expressive movement. Classes emphasize releasing fear, cultivating trust in the body, and expanding emotional and energetic presence on the apparatus. Participants are encouraged to explore musicality, personal style, and intuitive movement, creating a safe space for self-discovery and artistic expansion. Evening sessions may include restorative stretching, breathwork, visualization, or ritual practices designed to calm the nervous system, restore the body, and create a sense of grounding, clarity, and inner balance. These classes support a full integration of body, mind, and spirit, allowing participants to leave the retreat feeling strong, centered, inspired, and deeply connected.

Prerequisites

This retreat is open to adults with a basic to intermediate level of experience in aerial arts or movement-based practices. Modifications and progressions will be offered to accommodate different levels. Participants should be free of major injuries and able to safely participate in daily movement classes.

A willingness to explore, learn, and connect deeply with the body, mind, and creative process is essential. An open heart, respect for the group, and a commitment to personal growth are the most important prerequisites.

She is the founder of Maerial, a movement laboratory that blends aerial arts, flexibility, strength training, and embodied awareness with conscious practices such as breathwork, ritual, and somatic integration. With years of experience guiding students of different levels, Marash creates spaces where participants can safely explore aerial apparatuses, build physical strength and flexibility, develop coordination and body intelligence, and reconnect with confidence, focus, and presence. Her teaching approach honors the body as a whole — integrating body, mind, and spirit — encouraging students to move beyond fear and into expansion, creativity, and self-trust.

ECO RETREAT CENTER

Casa Chango is an Eco Retreat Center.  We do our best to live in harmony with the natural world.  We are off grid, and use 100% solar power. We have dry composting toilets and use the humanure and food waste to create soil to feed the amazing plants and trees all around the property. We ask all of our staff and guests to come with the mindset of learning about and respecting nature. The gray water from our sinks and showers filter out to water the plants.  Therefore we ask you to bring natural shampoos, conditioners, and toothpaste to your retreat.   All of our buildings were designed and built to be cool and comfortable, and we hope you enjoy your stay with us.

Casa Chango is an animal friendly place.  There are several friendly animals on site including dogs and cats.  They will not enter your rooms, but they will be on property and in common areas during your retreat.  Animal lovers will be in their happy place.

Native insects live in this area of Mexico.  We fumigate regularly to keep insects away and out of your rooms.  We also acknowledge that the insects are an important part of keeping nature in balance.   Most of the community spaces at Casa Chango, including the gym, dining area, pool, lounge are open air which means there are no walls.  You can expect to see a variety of native insects, birds, and lizards during your visit.  We hope you enjoy the experience of living more connected to nature.
