Spend a WEEK in PARADISE with new friends, the beach, delicious, fresh, local food, and learn loads and loads of new duo aerial skills!

Step into the air — and into connection. This immersive retreat is designed for experienced aerialists ready to expand beyond solo work and explore the strength, precision, and artistry of duo hoop — two bodies moving together on one aerial hoop.

Duo hoop is its own language. The hoop becomes shared space. Weight is exchanged, redirected, and received. Balance is negotiated in real time. Every transition requires communication. Every shape demands trust.
It is powerful.
It is technical.
And when done with intention — it is deeply connective.
Over seven days, we’ll train with focus and clarity, exploring:

  • The Craft of Moving as One Intelligent weight-sharing and counterbalance technique Mounts and transitions designed specifically for two bodies Base and flyer pathways — understanding both roles with confidence
  • Dynamic elements built progressively and safely
  • Clean sequencing that feels fluid, not forced You’ll refine the mechanics so your partnership feels stable and strong — then layer in musicality, breath, and artistry so your movement feels alive.
  • The Art of Partnership Non-verbal cues and shared timing Breath-led transitions
  • Trust-building drills
  • Creating shapes and lines that are impossible alone
  • Alongside duo hoop, we’ll dedicate time to aerial sling to strengthen your individual movement quality.
  • Sling sessions will focus on creative wraps, flowing transitions, endurance, and performance presence — allowing you to deepen your personal voice while expanding your collaborative one.

This retreat is for aerialists who want: Technical depth and intentional training A supportive but high-level environment Time to explore choreography and creative expression. Growth that feels embodied, not rushed Expect full, focused training days balanced with space to rest and integrate. Expect challenge — but also clarity. Expect to leave not only stronger, but more attuned.

There will be 2 daily classes.

During the morning, we’ll do a warm-up all together based on what we are going to work on later in the air, putting the focus on coordination and flexibility. We’ll then work on partner exercises to instill trust in each other before getting on the hoop. Once we feel connected on the ground we’ll transfer those skills to the hoop and work on skills that takes two.

During the afternoon we’ll work on our aerial sling sessions, you’ll build clean, secure wraps, confident climbs, and controlled inversions while refining your lines and transitions. You’ll achieve fluid sequences, dynamic entries, and smooth spin control—so you can move through the fabric with strength, precision, and expressive ease. By the end, you’ll have a choreographed sling combo that feels grounded, powerful, and fully embodied.

The rest of your time will be spent eating delicious food, swimming in the pool, lounging in hammocks, and enjoying being in nature.  There will be time to explore local markets and beaches as well as the local night life.

Your Teachers

Ky and Chels met each other at Esh Circus Arts and immediately connected as best friends to duo partners. They’ve performed together on aerial hoop, lollipop lyra, and aerial orb.

Ky grew up as a competitive dancer, from hip hop to tap, she fell in love with movement and performance arts. In 2017, Ky discovered the world of circus arts and she trained as an aerialist for 9 years, learning from the best aerial arts studios in MA. Her specialities include lollipop lyra, aerial hoop, aerial sling and dance. She’s coached aerial arts and has performed as a professional aerialist for 4 years. Her goals as a coach is to teach her students to feel comfortable in their bodies as they express themselves authentically in the air. Her goals as a performance artist is to continue to perform in spaces that allows her to express herself freely through music and movement.

Ky is one of the most inspiring instructors I have had the pleasure to encounter. She preaches self care and exudes fun energy, making taking her class a low stress highly rewarding experience. Ky is also clearly incredibly passionate about the sling which pushes her students to overcome fears and push their own boundaries during her classes. She is also a humble teacher, allowing students to provide feedback and suggestions for future classes openly. Always looking forward to taking aerial fly with Ky!!!

Gosh, I can literally only say good things about Chels and her classes . The minute I walked into her first class, I felt instantly welcome! The community Chels fosters in our class is just amazing. While it’s a group class and our general routine is the same each week, Chels makes sure every individual gets notes and corrections or help. She makes sure we are ready and able to perform the tricks, giving many options to go at one’s own ability. There’s no pressure to be perfect, and Chels makes it a place where we can all laugh and enjoy ourselves. She’s truly made getting back into the hoop a seamless experience.

ECO RETREAT CENTER

Casa Chango is an Eco Retreat Center.  We do our best to live in harmony with the natural world.  We are off grid, and use 100% solar power. We have dry composting toilets and use the humanure and food waste to create soil to feed the amazing plants and trees all around the property. We ask all of our staff and guests to come with the mindset of learning about and respecting nature. The gray water from our sinks and showers filter out to water the plants.  Therefore we ask you to bring natural shampoos, conditioners, and toothpaste to your retreat.   All of our buildings were designed and built to be cool and comfortable, and we hope you enjoy your stay with us.

Casa Chango is an animal friendly place.  There are several friendly animals on site including dogs and cats.  They will not enter your rooms, but they will be on property and in common areas during your retreat.  Animal lovers will be in their happy place.

Native insects live in this area of Mexico.  We fumigate regularly to keep insects away and out of your rooms.  We also acknowledge that the insects are an important part of keeping nature in balance.   Most of the community spaces at Casa Chango, including the gym, dining area, pool, lounge are open air which means there are no walls.  You can expect to see a variety of native insects, birds, and lizards during your visit.  We hope you enjoy the experience of living more connected to nature.
